Holiday Home Tour: Entryway & Living Room

holiday

A few days ago I shared my holiday front porch transformation. If you missed it you can check that out HERE. Now, continuing on the holiday home tour, up next is the entryway and living room!

Since the two flow right into each other, I figured I’d combine the tours. First things first, I always start with the fireplace mantel. It’s the focal point of the room and your eye goes right to it. I did a full blog post on my mantel this year, which you can read HERE. I walk you through my process of creating the mantel, as well as give you links to everything!

This year I was going for a nostalgic, elegant feel. And I carried that throughout the whole main floor of the house. Instead of the traditional red and green Christmas, I used a few different colors, but mainly focused on the green, pink, purple, and burnt orange. I brought the colors throughout the living room and entryway using ribbons in the garlands, and other decor pieces like throw pillows and candles. All of my garlands are faux and you can find them linked in my holiday garland roundup.

To add a few more little touches, I added some greenery and ribbons to the pictures on the wall, and I also included the picture on the loft as well. And I can’t forget the wreaths I hung in the windows! Tip: Use the same ribbon throughout all of your spaces to keep a cohesive look.

I always love how festive and magical the house feels after it’s been decorated for Christmas, and this year is no different. Check back soon for the kitchen portion of my holiday home tour!
