Mid-Year Project Roundup

Uncategorized

We are almost officially halfway through 2021, so I have pulled together a Mid-Year Project Roundup of my fave – and most – visited projects of 2021!

I have to say, working on my sister’s home has been a highlight. It allowed me to flex my creative juices with family and we were able to spend great quality time together! And of course, the Laundry Room. I completely swoon every time I walk in.

DIY Midcentury Modern Accent Wall: You know I had to include an accent wall in the makeover of my sister’s dining room! Don’t let this one intimidate you, it looks difficult, but it could actually be easily replicated by beginners.  I also revealed her finished dining room!

DIY Asymmetrical Accent Wall: You all know how much I love an accent wall and it’s no secret that you guys loved this one too! The cool thing about this wall is that it could actually be asymmetrical or symmetrical depending on where you are standing!

DIY Midcentury Modern Slat Wall Tutorial: I had a vision for this wall in my sister’s entryway that was something you’d see at a fancy hotel that you could never replicate yourself. But I did it! I love how it turned out, and it really pulls the entire space together!

Home Gym Reveal: Our home gym may have taken almost 11 months to complete, but it was worth the wait! The whole family gets use out of it. I also enjoyed getting to see how much interest and passion this sparked in you all to create your own home gyms, especially since we were all working out from home more.

Probably my fave on this Mid-Year Project Roundup is this Entryway Makeover: Before and After: I continued the midcentury modern feel from my sister’s dining room into her entryway and everything flows so well now!

In this post, I revealed the finished space and included all of the details. Including a cost breakdown!

Peel & Stick Marble Tile Backsplash: Believe it or not, this was my first big tile project! And I am so happy I went with this peel and stick marble! It was SO easy to install.  So is peel and stick tile really as good as it sounds? Absolutely, yes!

Sister’s Living Room Reveal: My sister’s entire main floor of her house was actually designed around these two orange crushed velvet chairs that were going in her living room.

They are sentimental pieces that couldn’t be altered, so it was a slight design challenge, but the finished room turned out so warm and fun!

Budget Friendly Floating Shelf DIY Tutorial: This is another project I did at my sister’s in her living room. I was able to transform an unusable nook into a functional space. This was my first time building floating shelves and I think they turned out so great!

Absolutely LOVE this Laundry Room Update: This is definitely one of my favorite projects to date! I think it is such a great example of taking a functional, but basic finished space and turning it into to a fully designed finished space that you want to be in.

What other projects do you want to see this year?
