What I Wore in NYC

Fashion

Hi friends! I just got back from an incredible five day trip to New York City with six of my closest girl friends! We hit the streets hard and tried to soak in as much as possible.  We hit Brooklyn, Uptown, Soho, China Town, Chelsea, and even biked Central Park.  Five days isn’t nearly enough to see everything, but we had a great time trying! So what’s a girl to do when she’s heading to one of the biggest fashion capitals of the world? Dress her BEST!  Read on as I share what I wore and some of my favorite fashion finds from NYC.

My daily reality is more work out clothes and a messy top knot, sans make up. BUT, give me a reason to get dolled up and I’m all over it! We all joked about how our hair had never looked so good 5 strait days in a row! My first day in New York was spent riding on top of a double decker tour bus soaking in the architecture.  Hats have been my favorite accessory lately.  Perfect solution to a bad hair day lol! {Sorry in advance for the grainy iPhone photos. I packed waaaaayyyy to many clothes on this trip to bring my nice camera…priorities}.

About half way through the day we hopped off in Soho and shopped till we dropped. I love dressing in layers that you can peel away or add on depending on the weather. These new jeans have turned out to be the MOST comfortable pair of jeans I own. They feel like butter and I LOVE the destroyed knee detail! I always like to add a messy cuff at the bottom of my jean when pairing with a heel or bootie.  It elongates the leg…I have short ones 🙂 I wasn’t sure how these toeless booties would rank in the comfort level, but after walking around in them all day I give them a complete thumbs up for comfort and no blisters! That’s a win for me! I’m loving this burgundy color for fall!

The next day we set our sites on Brooklyn.  We hit up a vintage flea market in the morning that was surrounded by this charming neighborhood.  I dressed in layers again, but this time no heels.  I picked up the black leather street shoes yesterday in Soho.  I really needed a stylish yet comfortable alternative to sneakers on this trip.  We walked miles and miles.

If you find yourself in New York, do not pass up the opportunity to grab pizza at Juliana’s.  We got there shortly after it opened and waited for about 30 minutes.  After we had stuffed ourselves with 3 pies, the line was down the street.  The wait is worth it though, best pizza I’ve ever had…no Joke!

And What would Brooklyn be without the bridge?!

I can’t help it, I love the retro shape of these glasses.  The pink frames actually go with almost everything and they are so comfortable to wear.

Somehow I forgot to get any photos of our evenings in the City, but I’ll link what I wore at he bottom of the post.  Our last full day we slept in a bit then headed to the Upper West Side for brunch.  I ordered the savory french toast at Kirsh and it did not disappoint. Ask for a side of syrup, I promise you’ll thank me later!  A comfy fitted black and white shirt layered with my favorite red vest kept me warm for our next adventure.

We rented bikes and peddled around Central Park all day.  Honestly, this was my favorite day in NYC.  The sun was out and we just laughed till our stomachs hurt.  These high wasted black jeans fit like a glove.  The stretch fit makes them one of my favorite pairs.
