- Screwdriver
- Ladder
Step 1: Remove the Existing Can Light Trim & Bulb
- turn the breaker off
- Unscrew the light bulb and remove it.
- Pull down the existing trim or baffle (this is usually held in place by clips or screws).

- Adjust the bracket if necessary to ensure a snug fit inside the recessed light housing.
Step 3: Wire the Pendant Light
- Connect the wires from your pendant light to the adapter’s wires using the provided wire nuts:
- Black (hot) to black
- White (neutral) to white
- Green (ground) to green/bare copper
- If needed, strip about ½ inch of insulation from the wire ends before connecting them.
- Tuck the wires neatly inside the housing.
Step 4: Attach & Secure the Pendant Light
- Position the pendant canopy over the mounting bracket.
- Secure the fixture using the included screws.
- Adjust the pendant height by loosening or tightening the cord according to your preference.
More Hallway Ideas

In my hallways, I love incorporating an accent wall, such as thin brick sheets painted white, to add texture. Another great way to elevate the space is by incorporating artwork with an art light to create a gallery-like feel. For a more architectural touch, box beams on the ceiling can add warmth and dimension. You can also consider using wallpaper for a stylish and sophisticated touch or decorative molding to add interest to your walls. Combining these elements with upgraded lighting will create a stunning and inviting hallway!
