Our Kitchen Reveal Before and After
Welcome to My New Kitchen!

After months of planning, decision-making, and living through a renovation zone, I’m so excited to finally share our kitchen reveal before and after! This space is truly the heart of our home, and today I’m walking you through the full transformation, the progress pics along the way, and the design decisions that helped bring this room to life.
Design Details That Set the Tone
The diamond leaded glass arched windows in our pantry is one of the standout features in this kitchen. I also love how it beautifully echos the arched details found throughout the rest of our home. This repeating shape adds both elegance and cohesion across the spaces.

We painted Benjamin Moore Stone Hearth Grey on the cabinets. To offer a contrast to the lighter cabinetry, we used a custom stain on the Island and all the wood work throughout my home is solid white oak. Unfortunately this stain color involves several steps and a glaze so it’s not just a formula I can easily share. Our wood flooring flows from the rest of the home into the kitchen—if you missed last week’s blog post all about our wood flooring, click here to read it.

We chose a mix of aged brass and polished nickel throughout the fixtures and hardware to add a layer of subtle sophistication and reflect the warmth of the space. The barstools at the island pick up on the arched theme, featuring an aged brass base that ties in beautifully with the other finishes.

A favorite detail of mine is the second island, which was intentionally designed to look like a furniture piece—somewhere between a table and an island. While it gives that freestanding look, it’s fully built-in and integrated into the kitchen. This piece adds warmth and functionality, while also helping define the open layout.

You’ll also notice the fluted detailing running throughout the kitchen—it appears on the drawer fronts, accents the island base, and even shows up in the glass of the kitchen pendants. It’s a subtle but impactful design element that ties everything together with texture and repetition.

To keep the space feeling bright, we used Benjamin Moore Simply White in eggshell on the walls, and carried the same shade in semi-gloss on the tongue and groove ceiling, which adds just the right amount of charm overhead.
Countertops & Hood

The kitchen features two statement-making countertops. On the perimeter, we used a black porcelain called Magnifica Encore Pietra Grey in a honed finish. It’s durable, elegant, and offers the look of natural stone with less upkeep. The island and marble hood are topped with Bedrosians Calcutta Borghini honed, finished with a dramatic Ogee edge. You can watch the reel on the marble hood here.

We also upgraded our range during this kitchen reveal before and after, and so far we’re loving it. It heats up quickly, cooks evenly, and has made everyday meals feel like a 5-star experience. I’ll be sharing a more in-depth review after I’ve had more time to use it. But it’s already proving to be a kitchen workhorse that matches the beauty of the space.

Pantry Perks
Our pantry floor’s were a special order through Bedrosian’s. The checkerboard floor was created using honed Crema Marfil and Calacatta gold. It adds a little unexpected charm tucked behind the main kitchen space. Click here to see the reel of the pantry floor in action.

We’re also still deciding on the design direction for the back wall of our butler’s pantry. I’m torn between adding tile or repeating the exterior stone from the outside of our home. I want to live in the space a little longer before making that decision.

A Work in Progress—But We’ve Got the Bones!
This kitchen reveal before and after is still evolving, but the transformation has been well worth the wait. I’m currently still trying to find my flow and organizational pattern. This kitchen features a lot of drawers vs. cabinets which has presented a new opportunity to rethink how I store things. I’ll share all the hidden organizational storage designs as soon as I find my perfect flow.
