Remi’s LoveShackFancy-Inspired Tween Bedroom

English Tudor Construction | Interior Decor

After one very competitive clean-room contest, weeks of planning, a little bit of wallpaper magic… Remi’s bedroom is officially complete! This post is your one-stop resource for everything we used in her tween bedroom—from the wallpaper tutorial to the final styled photos.

I’ve already shared bits and pieces of this space along the way, including the full DIY wallpaper tutorial and her original design plan, but today we’re pulling it all together.

How This Project Started

This room makeover actually started with a little family competition. I told my kids that whoever kept their room the cleanest for an entire month would get theirs done first—and Remi won! So this project is both a design moment and a parenting win. The contest is still going, and we’ll see who gets their room revealed next… after I knock out a few other projects on the list!

Designing a Tween Bedroom

When I started planning this tween bedroom, I knew it had to reflect Remi’s fun, creative personality. She’s always crafting, drawing, dreaming—and I wanted her room to feel like a space where she can do all of that and more. But I also didn’t want to design something she’d outgrow in a year. The goal was to create a space that felt whimsical and girly, but still elevated enough to carry her through the teen years.

We leaned into soft colors, romantic textures, and a few bold moments that give the space character. The whole look is inspired by LoveShackFancy—but made way more budget-friendly with smart sourcing (thank you Facebook Marketplace!) and DIY.

Painted Ceiling

Remi’s room has a super high-pitched ceiling, and I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it at first. I could’ve kept it white and called it a day—but it felt like a missed opportunity. With a space like this, there’s room to add some character and a little architectural interest.

I considered doing some trim work, but in the end I went for something bold: a painted ceiling in a deep purple shade that pulls straight from the wallpaper. I also added natural wood beams, which added warmth and dimension to the high ceiling.

And that white floral chandelier? It absolutely pops against the purple backdrop.

The Floral Wallpaper

This wallpaper was the true jumping-off point. I wanted something soft and floral, but with several colors I could tie into the rest of the space—and this one delivered. It’s sweet and romantic, but still playful and full of personality. Just like Remi.

That said… this wallpaper tested me. The room’s walls were far from perfect, and I learned a ton of little tricks along the way to deal with uneven surfaces and tricky corners. If you’re planning to try it yourself, don’t miss my DIY wallpaper tutorial here. It has all the tips I wish I had before starting.

Final Thoughts

A clean-room challenge turned into a space that feels meaningful and special for my daughter—and that’s what makes it so worth it! I’m confident this tween bedroom design will grow with her for years to come.
