Hilarious White Elephant Gift Ideas for Your Next Christmas Party

holiday

Every year, our small group of friends comes together for our annual Christmas party and the ultimate White Elephant Gift Exchange. This game has become one of my favorite holiday traditions because of all of the unexpected laughter and surprises. Our group loves to keep the gifts funny—so much so that we’ve joked about starting an Etsy shop just for hilarious white elephant gifts!

How to Play White Elephant

Here’s a quick refresher on the rules we use:

  1. Each person picks a number to determine the order in which they’ll choose a gift.
  2. On your turn, you can either open a new gift from the pile or steal someone else’s gift.
  3. Gifts can only be stolen twice before they are locked and safe from further stealing.
  4. If someone steals your gift, you can choose a new gift from the pile or steal from another player (as long as their gift isn’t locked).
  5. The person with #1 gets one last turn at the end to steal a gift if they want.

It’s a game of strategy and surprises, where the funniest gifts often become the most coveted!

My Top 3 Funniest White Elephant Gifts

Over the years, we’ve seen some truly hilarious gifts. Here are my personal favorites, which you can snag for your own exchange:

  1. Big Underwear: Nothing gets the group laughing like an oversized pair of novelty undies!
  2. Nicolas Cage Sequin Flip Pillow: Flip it one way, and it’s a plain design. Flip it the other way, and voilà—Nicolas Cage in all his glory.
  3. Snoop Dogg: From Crook to Cook Cookbook: Perfect for the aspiring chef or the die-hard Snoop fan in your circle.
