Christmas Decor Staples I Use Every Year (Before They Sell Out)

DIY | English Tudor Construction | Family | holiday | Interior Decor

Every year I change up my holiday decor with new colors, new ribbon and a new theme for the mantel. It’s easy, and still makes an impact. But a handful of Christmas staples come out of the storage bins every single time. These are the hardworking pieces that make it easy to create a fresh holiday look without starting from scratch. They look high-end, they hold up season after season, and almost all of them sell out early. If one has been on your list, consider this your sign to grab it now! These are my ultimate Christmas decor staples I use every year!

My Two Favorite Christmas Garlands

Two looks, same garland!

If you only invest in one thing for Christmas decor, make it good garland. It does most of the work, and these are the two I’ve used year after year.

This Holiday Garland is the showstopper. It’s thick and lush, with a realistic mix of greenery that looks expensive the minute you hang it. It comes pre-lit with LED lights and a timer, so there’s no wrestling with string lights (the worst). You can use it both for indoor and outdoor use, so it works on a mantel, a staircase or around the front door. It also comes in a longer length!

My faux cedar garland is the perfect pairing too. Its soft, drapey cedar branches look natural and it lays so well… never stiff or plastic. On its own it’s simple and classic. Layered with the Frontgate garland, it adds depth and that collected, designer look. It comes in several lengths, so you can size it to whatever you are decorating!

I love using them together on my mantel, then styling them differently each year with berry picks, ribbon, ornaments or twinkle lights. Same garland, completely new look!

A Giant Red Bow for the Porch: Nothing says Christmas from the street like a giant red velvet bow. It’s the easiest way to make a big statement on your front porch. Hang it over the door, above the garage or on a gate, and your house instantly feels festive. The velvet is rich and classic, and it’s UV-treated, so it holds its color outside all season. Mine is the 48 x 60″ size, but it comes in lots of sizes to fit any door. It’s also so pretty that I’ve left it up through Valentine’s Day!

Mini Christmas Trees from Walmart

These mini twinkle trees from Walmart were a huge hit on LTK, and they won’t last long! They come pre-lit with twinkle lights and sit in a woven basket stand, so they’re ready to go right out of the box. Mine are the 4 ft Norfolk Pine. I got two to flank my front door, and there’s a 2 ft size that’s perfect for a kitchen counter, bookshelf or nightstand. They look like something from a high-end garden shop for a fraction of the price.

The Viral Home Depot Christmas Tree

Run, don’t walk! This Christmas tree sells out every single year! It’s full and realistic, and its built-in twinkling LED lights add a soft, magical glow without hours of stringing lights. When I compared the most viral trees side by side, Home Depot won for the best bang for your buck. It comes in four sizes, 7.5ft, 9 ft, 12 ft and 15 ft so there’s one for every ceiling height.

One year I potted it and it turned out so cute! Make it fun, it’s so versatile!
