Remi’s Bedroom Design Plan

English Tudor Construction | Interior Decor

When we moved into our new home, one of my top priorities was finishing the kids’ spaces early so they’d feel settled and at home. To make it fun, we ran a three-week challenge: whoever kept their room the cleanest would get theirs done first. Remi won! And now we’re bringing her dream room to life.

A Sweet Throwback Start

From day one, Remi knew she wanted the trim in her room to match the striped walls in her old bathroom—a project we did together in our last house. The color? Swanky Gray by Sherwin Williams.

We had the trim painted while the rest of the house was being sprayed, and I’m seriously considering doing those same stripes on the ceiling in this room as a special nod to our old home and the memories we made painting it together.

The Design Direction: Feminine, Floral, Timeless

Remi wanted something girly but not babyish—and I was dreaming of something timeless and soft with a little romantic twist. Think feminine florals, vintage charm, and a touch of whimsy. I pulled a lot of inspiration from LoveShackFancy—but on a budget!

When I found this traditional floral wallpaper, I knew it was perfect. It feels sweet and youthful but sophisticated enough to grow with her. Honestly, I’d use it in my own room too! It also ties beautifully into the pink vanity in her Jack & Jill bathroom.

Even though her 20-foot pitched ceilings made wallpapering a challenge, it was so worth it. This print comes in 35-foot rolls, so we could do an entire wall without seams, and the repeat was super easy to match.

  1. I’m shocked you are going back to this style that we (anyone over 60) all did. It’s not original but a new look for you and your sweet family.
