Spring styling in the kitchen
The kitchen can be the most difficult area to style seasonally. Today I’m breaking down how to do spring styling in the kitchen the right way!
To be honest, I usually keep my seasonal decor in the kitchen pretty minimal. Other than a few faux topiaries, flowers, and some spring vignettes, all of the other decorative pieces are actually things we use daily. Tip: Pull out your different colored dishes and china and use them as seasonal decor. They will get used more and you can enjoy their beauty.
A cluttered kitchen is NOT conducive to actual meal prep and cooking, so most of counter top decor is clustered into vignettes. You’ll see each spring vignette is grounded by some sort of serving tray, cake stand, or bread board. The perfect vignette consists of groups of 3 or 5 objects with different heights and textures. These are some of my favorite pieces to play with for spring vignettes:
- bunnies
- easter eggs
- fresh or faux flowers
- pitchers or jars
- pastel cups or glasses
- mini bowls
- cake stands
- flatware
- salad plates
- tea cups
- seasonal dinnerware
- bread boards
- cutting boards
- serving trays
- candles
- cakes/pies
- fruits
- woven placemats
- decorative linens
Another great place to add a little spring flair is on the hood above your cooking range. A great cherry blossom wreath and a cute easter egg garland was just the touch of color the kitchen needed. It brings the eye up and doesn’t take away from your counter space at all! Below are some of my favorite spring wreaths and garlands.
All in all the best way to do spring styling in the kitchen is focused vignettes. Stick with this concept and you’re golden. If you are looking for a yummy spring dessert, try my blueberry lemon cake! It’s a total crowd pleaser. Click HERE to tour my spring living room!
