5 Must Haves for your Fall Front Porch
Are there certain ingredients to a successful fall front porch? I believe the answer to that is, YES! Today I’m sharing my 5 must haves for the perfect fall front porch!

Fall porch must have number 1: An outstanding fall wreath (or 2). I love a good fall wreath and they come in all sorts of styles and colors. My number one must have is a real looking autumn wreath. I will always choose dried over faux and you can reuse them every season too. Tip: If you have double doors like me, opt for 2 identical wreaths, one on each door. You can even add a bow and make it totally one of a kind!

Fall porch must have number 2: Layered doormats. Yummy texture and design layers are always a good idea for cooler temperatures. Your door mats are no exception. Layered door mats are cozy and inviting and really make an entrance welcoming. Tip: If you have double doors or a really large door, select a wider door mat. Scale matters! For a double door , you will want at least a 48 inch mat paired with a 3×5 ft rug laid underneath. For a single door, an approx. 30 inch doormat will be sufficient. Layer that over a 2×3 ft flat weave rug and you are set!

Fall porch must have number 3: Autumn flowers & plants. Hands down my favorite fall flowers are Mums! They come in so many different vibrant colors and really bring your porch to life. Some other fall plants I love are the flowering kale, fountain grass, and oak leaf hydrangeas. Tip: Choose planters that reflect your home style. Combine them with baskets and pots of all different sizes.

Fall porch must have number 4: Lanters. Adding ambient lighting is always a good idea, esp on your fall/winter porch. The nights are longer and nothing says cozy like flickering candles. Tip: Opt of at least 2 different sizes and fill them with flameless outdoor pillar candles. Most of these have timers you can pre set!

Fall porch must have number 5: Lot’s and Lot’s of pumpkins. Real or faux, loads of pumpkins scream bountiful harvest. A good faux pumpkin is something you can use year after year. I love to add a pumpkin or 2 with rich texture or bold patterns too. Tip: Combine real and faux pumpkins for the best fall front porch.
