When you think of the perfect fall front porch, what comes to mind? Is it pumpkins, hay stacks, mums, scarecrows, and corn husks? While I love an iconic front porch that includes some of these named elements, I also love to mix in a bit of the unexpected. How about introducing some copper and jewel tones into your perfect fall front porch? Let’s really stretch our autumn imaginations and play with some bold black and white patterns too. Read on as I share my copper, jewel toned fall front porch with bold black and white patterns.
I’ve linked up with 4 of my blogger buddies to bring you 5 fall porches – 5 different styles! If you are coming from Tamara’s home of CitrineLiving then welcome. I love her classic style with bold patterns and punches of blue and white throughout. I always find inspiration in her home and I hope you will find beauty here as well. At the end of this post, I’ll send you over to the next stop on our little porch extravaganza.
A Copper, jewel toned fall front porch with bold black and white patterns that you’ll love
Copper and jewel tones are my jam this year! Along with my interiors, my approach to this years fall porch has been somewhat unconventional. It all started with this DIY copper triangle wreath with dark purple plums and varying hues of red. Click here for the full tutorial- it’s an easy one!
I greet the new season (and my guests) with this “Hello Fall” sign. Use the code: remave10 for 10% off this wood cut out sign and others! It can be seen from the street and what a fun way to add a little personality to your fall porch. This sign comes in 2 different sizes. Mine is the large and I painted it with this charcoal gray chalk spray paint. You could even hang it on your door, or over a wreath. Lot’s of options.
I continued the copper trend by spray painting some of my old faux pumpkins with this copper spray paint. I love how they turned out. I also picked up a couple copper planters to house my purple mums. I filled my black lanterns with popcorn seeds and a candle. The orangey color of the seeds even coordinates with the copper tones.

These mums, although traditional in fall outdoor decor, seem unexpected with the deep crimson hues. The jewel toned purples and reds are a bit more surprising for fall then your typical orange and yellow combo. Red and purple are right next to each other on the color wheel making them a harmonious pair! Costco is my go-to source for giant beautiful mums! I carried this copper and jewel toned theme right inside too. Did you catch my fall home tour last week? If you missed it, you can see the whole tour by clicking here. Here’s a little peek…recognize the stripe pumpkin?
Now on to the bold black and white patterns! One of my most favorite purchases this year is this black and white checked rug. Consider layering a larger rug under your welcome mat for the cooler seasons ahead. Layers add comfort and texture… making it a welcoming entry. Get out your closed toes shoes ladies… I feel a crispness in the air!

These black and white striped pumpkins draw the eye. I have used these outside and in for a bold punch of contrast. These beauties will take me right into halloween too.

My woven pumpkins bring a natural texture to the mix. I can never decide on just one theme or style… I love to grab bits of everything and bring them all together. Did you notice the black and white ribbon I added on top? As the autumn season progresses I’ll be adding in real pumpkins too. The more variety the better in my book.
I moved my black patio set around to display all my fall decor. The chairs have come together to create a little seating area at the end. I love sitting out here in the mornings. I can see everyone passing by, but they can’t see me in my pj’s. An oversized black and white buffalo check pillow makes it so much more comfortable.
