Fall Porch Roundup: Inspiration for a Festive Entryway
Welcome to my fall porch roundup! I always look forward to decorating my porch with fall decor… And now that pumpkin spice latte is officially available at Starbucks, I think it’s fair game to pull out the fall decor this season!
I’ve gathered some of my favorite past fall porch designs to inspire you. Each look is linked to a detailed blog post where you can find instructions on how to recreate these festive spaces. Plus, I’ve included “shop the post” widgets to make it easy for you to find the decor items you need to achieve these looks.
Traditional Fall Porch
This is a classic look any one can achieve. Last year, I wanted to keep my fall decor traditional, so I stuck to decorating with pumpkins and jack o’lanterns.

At the top of my stairs you’ll see my DIY faux fall tree project, where I literally made my own faux fall tree for less than $20! You can check out that DIY HERE.

One easy project I did in this photo is spray painted the resin jack o’lanterns. I bought them from Walmart and I wasn’t really loving the color, so I spray painted them white, stem and all!

Then I had the idea of turning planters into jack o’lanterns. And it was as easy as painting faces on planters I already had. All I had to do was use a cup and bowl to trace circles for the eyes and mouth. Then I took paint samples I already had in the garage to fill in the outlined features.

Pumpkin Patch Porch
For this porch design, I mixed faux and real pumpkins for my front porch decor, and it was a winning combination! Faux pumpkins are perfect as space fillers—they’re reliable, reusable, and help create a full, layered look. I had real pumpkins for the top layer because their texture & color are hard to beat.

One of the top questions I got from this photo was: How did you keep your pumpkins looking so fresh throughout the fall?
The secret: It all starts with a good wash. I used a power washer to clean off the dirt and grime. When power washing, be sure to use a wider nozzle tip for gentler pressure, which is perfect for cleaning pumpkins without damaging them.

After washing, I sprayed them with clear enamel spray. This was a game-changer in keeping them from rotting and helped them last all season long. It’s a simple step, but it really helps preserve your pumpkins for as long as possible.

Once my pumpkins were in place, I brought out my skeleton buddy, Coco, to add a touch of whimsy to the scene. He was the perfect finishing touch, adding just the right mix of fun and spooky vibes to the porch.

The Bewitched Porch
I love to strike a balance—something that’s not too cutesy, not overly Halloween, but still incorporates elements of both. This way, it’s fun for the kids and makes my design heart happy!

My favorite element from this porch design was the floating witch hats. They’re a low-budget idea with a big impact, instantly transforming the space into something magical. The best part? They’re incredibly easy to create.

Pumpkins in various sizes and colors are a must! Stack them or pile them into baskets or crates to add texture and dimension to your design. The more variety, the more visually interesting your porch will be!

This is your chance to get creative—there’s no wrong way to decorate your porch! Adding unique decor pieces will make the biggest impact.
