Settling in the Master Bedroom

Home Tour
It’s officially been 2 months since closing on this home of ours.  I’ve been at a bit of a standstill on ACTUALLY moving in since I’ve been waiting for our new sectional sofa to arrive and our additional kitchen cabinets to be constructed.  I’ve decided if the rest of my house has to feel like a camp site, then I’m moving in the Master.  Everything you see in this room came strait from my previous master bedroom. Arranging it in our current bedroom breathes new life into it all and makes everything feel brand new again!  The deep blue backdrop for all this furniture is a color called Tempe Star by Sherwin Williams.  I’ve fallen in love with it! A full source list at the bottom.

I have custom window treatments that i took form the previous house.  I have to alter them for these windows still.

  1. I love your wall color!! You have done an amazing job at designing your home, I keep coming back to your blog! Just a quick question…how did you choose the wall color and we're you afraid to go.datk? Im.so.nervous to paint because I'm afraid of choosing the wrong color. Ugh!

  2. Thank you so much and thank you for visiting my blog! I knew I wanted a deep blue for the bedroom so I googled deep blue master bedrooms. I looked at several images then go samples of my favorites. I ALWAYS paint a few samples on my wall and look at it over a few days. colors change depending on lighting. My husband was super hesitant about doing such a dark color, but ultimately trusted my design instinct. He loves it now, but didn't have the vision. I totally love the color. Don't be afraid of dark colors, just balance them with plenty of lights and whites in the rest of your decor! Good luck
