2022 DIY Project Roundup

DIY

2022 was another year filled with so many fun DIY projects that I got to share with you guys! So, much like my 2021 project roundup, this is a list of all of my DIY projects I did last year. Including links to the full blog posts, where you’ll find tutorials, photos, supply lists, and more. Lets get into the 2022 DIY project roundup.

2022 DIY Project Roundup

DIY IKEA Hack Homework Station & Sister’s Loft Renovation Reveal:
The year kicked off at my sister, Alyse’s, finishing up the project I was doing in her loft. I created this DIY IKEA Hack Homework Station as a place for her kiddos to work on. I added in the furniture and decor to finish up the space for the grand reveal.

Statement Powder Room Reno & Moody Bathroom With Grasscloth Wallpaper:
Another project I did at my sister’s was reno her first floor powder room. I went bold here with a wild grasscloth wallpaper and a slat wall feature. One reason I love doing projects at my sister’s is because her house is a completely different style than mine. So it lets me flex my creative muscle even more!

DIY Brick Backsplash with German Schmear:
I love brick, so it makes sense that I chose to do a brick backsplash in our kitchen. Last year, I finally got around to sharing how I did the thin brick backsplash with the German Schmear technique.

DIY Hallway Transformation:
I actually did two pretty drastic hallway transformations in my house last year, one upstairs and one downstairs. First I did upstairs. I took a boring white hallway and adding molding all the way throughout to give it a custom look. Then I did the same downstairs for a hallway off of the kitchen.

DIY Lego Shelf Tutorial & Create a Teen Boy Room He Will Love:
My son’s room got some love last year, as I transitioned it from a little boy’s room to a teen room. I also added a DIY Lego shelf for him to store his Lego creations on. This really helped with my house not being taken over by Legos.

Hamptons Pool House Transformation:
On a little family trip to the Hamptons, I had the opportunity to makeover my friend’s pool house! A few simple projects later and the space now has a custom design feel.

Basement Living Room Reveal:
2022 was the year of getting the basement together. This project was full of a few projects and took a while, but I love how the space turned out. It started with the DIY Checkerboard Backsplash in the kitchen area. Then to add some fun to the space, I made the DIY Wooden Mini Basketball Hoop and the DIY Giant Wall Tic Tac Toe Tutorial.

As for the cosmetic look of things, I added brick veneers to the exterior wall of the basement. Now the brick looks like it continues from the outside in. I go into detail on that in my Brick Veneer Wall Tutorial.

Holiday DIYs:
This year I did a few holiday related DIYs to give you themed decor on a budget! My most popular being the Pottery Barn Terracotta Pumpkin Dupe. I also made DIY Spooky Halloween Trees for the exterior of my home. For Christmas I made DIY Wood House Candle Holders, which I used for decor on my fireplace mantle and kitchen table.

I am so happy with all of the DIY projects that I was able to accomplish last year. This DIY project roundup post is a great reminder of everything I was able to get done. And I love being able to have one spot for you to find links for your favorite projects from years past. Let me know in the comments which project was your favorite from last year!
